Question
My periods are heavy and very painful. Can you help?

Answer from Rebecca
Yes, indeed I can help! I have had great success helping women to regulate and “normalize” their periods. Your menstrual period need not be uncomfortable or overly heavy. Irregularities in the menstrual cycle are an indication you’re your body needs to be rebalanced. When we meet, we will discuss your entire health history and your current health concerns in detail. Then I will prescribe the best homeopathic medicine for you and soon your menstrual flow will be regulated and your discomfort will be minimized.

Question
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over a year now. What do you suggest we do?

Answer from Rebecca
Having worked in London's top fertility clinic for over 3 years, I can assure you that there is help available. Whether you decide to work with a reproductive endocrinologist as well as utilize natural health care, or if you choose to solely "go natural," there are things you can do to increase your chances of conceiving. Normally I suggest that both prospective parents meet with me for an initial consultation. I will prescribe homeopathic remedies for both of you and make any other minor health suggestions that seem pertinent to your specific situation. Should you decide to visit a fertility clinic (I personally recommend Southern Ontario Fertility Technologies here in London, Ontario, with Dr. Jim Martin), then I can use any diagnositic information you get from your consultation with them to tailor your treatment protocol. I have had wonderful success in the past helping couples to conceive both with the help of the team at Dr. Martin's office and without. Do not despair - help is available!

Question
Do you think it is really safe for me to be on the pill?

Answer from Rebecca
The question of “safety” is a bit sketchy. The list of side effects known to be related to the birth control pill is a long one. And the list of side effects NOT known to be related to the birth control pill concerns me, too! Personally, I worry very much about what we do not know now about the impact of synthetic hormones like those found in the birth control pill, hormone replacement therapy, and other forms of birth control like the new plastic IUDs which slowly release synthetic hormones, or the birth control “shot” or “patch.” I am very concerned that in the years to come, we will discover that we have done ourselves tremendous harm by utilizing these chemicals and that by that time, it will be too late for our generation and for our daughters to come. From a professional standpoint, I like to work with my clients to familiarize them with their bodies and their own natural rhythms. Knowing your body, when you ovulate, and understanding ways of protecting yourself from pregnancy without the use of synthetic hormones is, I think, the “safest” approach to birth control.
